Samantha and Chris decided to get married in Elizabeth City, NC where Chris is from. On Saturday, February 19th our whole family loaded up in several cars and headed out for our three hour trip. Joey, myself and our oldest, Ayden rode with my parents, Eric (my brother) and his family rode together and Wesley (my other brother) and his girlfriend rode with the wedding musician and family friend Dr. Goodman. I wish we could have had a recorder in every car to hear the stories and laughter. It is never a dull moment when our family gets together.
Our first stop was for lunch. We all decided on eating Burger King (I couldn't find the Andy's :(
The ceremony was held at Garrington Island which was about 30 minutes away from Elizabeth City. We all started unpacking as soon as we got there.It didn't take the guys long at all to get ready
The girls took a little longer
Abby (my niece) was one of the flower girls and Ayden (my oldest) was the ring bearer
Dr. Goodman, a family friend was the musician.
My husband Joey was the officiating minister.
Chris's parents took care of the decorating and food.
They did a great job.
We did a quick rehersal before the ceremony

Dr. Goodman played in honor of my grandfather, Jerry White. My grandfather passed away a little over 10 years ago; he was an outstanding violin player and Dr. Goodman was friends with him. It blessed my heart to see the act of kindness that Dr. Goodman showed by driving over 3 hours one way to honor his friend and play at his granddaughter's wedding.
Hearing him play brought tears to my eyes. It was beautiful.
