A Beautiful Picture of Forgiveness & Restoration

Yesterday Brock's friend at school, Cameron, had a special day with his mom and got a kids meal crown that he wore to school. Brock got upset that he didn't have a crown so he took Cameron's and torn it.
Now as a mom I have two choices I can discipline Brock and move along or I can make this a learning experience (and of course discipline him in the process).
I chose to make this a life lesson experience.
We adults mess up all the time and covet our neighbors stuff, we get angry and secretly pout or stomp our feet and how does God correct us?
First there is the conviction, in Brock's case it was mom telling him it was wrong, then the correction, we have to go and ask for forgiveness, and then the neat part is that God restores us better than we were before!
Brock did just that; he apologized, asked for forgiveness, and the next day took 10 brand new crowns not only to replace Cameron's but everyone was able to get one.
This blessed my heart today; I love it when God gives us beautiful illustrations like these two precious little boys one who asked for forgiveness and one who granted it.
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"
Acts 3:19
