Thirty years old! Can you believe it? I have to admit, I was kind of depressed about turning 30. I thought the last 10 years have flown by so fast so what is the next 10 years going to be like?????
Friday, April 1st my office surprised me with a cake and balloon and a lovely "30" button that I could wear all day :) It was nice to go ahead and get prepared a day in advance for the big "turning point" day. The next day, Saturday, Joey had class so he was up and out of the house early. The kids gave me the best present of all.... they let me sleep until 8:00 am (all you moms out there know what I'm talking about!)
When I opened my eyes this is the precious site I awoke to.

About 30 minutes later my mom showed up with a nice surprise of breakfast for the kids and I.
At lunch time Joey came home and we opened presents and then about an hour later when my grandma came over Joey remembered he had a birthday cake for me :) He had hid it and forgot about it.

After wards we got ready and Joey took me out to my favorite restaurant...... Carrabbas!
The Baileys babysat so the kids were really excited about that.
Carrabbas was great as it is everytime we go!
*****
The kids were so good that the Baileys ended up letting them stay the night!
What more sleep?!?! this birthday just kept getting better and better!
This was only the second time Joey and I had ever been a night
without our children so we didn't sleep to well :(
The next morning Joey and I were at the Bailey's bright and early to pick the kids ups but they informed us they did not want to ride to church with mom and dad so we handed over car seats and headed to church with an empty car (another weird moment for Joey and I)
After church I had another cake and presents from Joey's parents
and then headed to my mom and dad's for yet another cake and more presents!
Well, my birthday has come and gone and guess what.....I ended up surviving!
I'm a little bit fatter from all the chocolate and cake but I did survive.
Thirty isn't so bad after all. It's not the age of the person but the life of the person that determines them. I choose live my life to the fullest and to be appreciative of the breath in my lungs and the beat in my heart. I have been extremely blessed over the past 30 years and look forward to the next 30 years!
