Father's Day weekend started on Friday for Joey. We sent him away to the beach with his dad while we headed to my sister, Samantha's 20th birthday.I can't believe my little sister is 20 years old, it seems like just yesterday my mom was calling me in the morning (I was 10) to let me know she had a baby sister while I was sleeping and what I would like to name her.
The kids loved their cupcakes!
That night it was so cute to see all the kids enjoy nothing but the breeze and outdoors.
They would run up and down this little hill and laugh and squeal like it was the neatest thing in the whole world.

This is my brother Wesley, it's hard to believe also that he going to become a dad this year,
his little boy is due at the end of July.

The next day Joey's mom, myself and the kids headed to the beach to meet Joey and spend the rest of the weekend with him
We got there around 1:00 and the kids immediately wanted to give their dad gifts
He got a fishing shirt, flip flops, & some other goodies from his mom
His gift from us was a key chain of him and the kids at his work. I told him to put it on his work keys to remind him in the stressful days he has once in a while why he does what he does.... his family.
Oh yeah, the free day Friday at the beach with no kids was his big gift :)

Next the kids wanted to take a ride in dad's boat
They suited up in life jackets for their 5 minute ride up and down the canal
It was so special because each child got their own ride by them self with their daddy
Next they jumped in the canal
Ayden actually learned how to swim on this day
Bethany stayed in for about 26 seconds and then decided
laying out was more her cup of apple juice
It wouldn't be summer at the beach without watermelon
bike rides
and a big hammock!
That night
The kids all wanted to sleep in the living room on the pullout couch
Right before bed one of the houses across the canal was shooting fireworks
so they got a neat little show before settling in.
We all snuggled and the went night night
eventually ........
The next morning the kids were up at 8:00 ready for breakfast and to go outside; so we had breakfast outside. We watched our church service online on the porch and just relaxed.
A little before lunch we packed up and let the kids ride on the boat one more time and headed home.
Joey said it was the best father's day yet and I have to agree.
He was able to enjoy a day with his dad and then his children got to enjoy a relaxing day with their dad.
Once again we had memories made that weekend that we will be able to talk about to our grand kids one day.
Happy Father's Day 2011 to all the dads out there!
