This year Brock attending Pre-School at Carver Elementary. It was such a blessing to be able to have Brock and Ayden attended the same school. It felt like just yesterday I was dropping him off for his first day of preschool and now it was already time for graduation!
The night before graduation Ayden and I (Ayden loves staying up late working on projects with me) made "graduation pops"
Joey picked up the cake the day before also
It was very tempting for Ayden but he was able to refrain from getting into it.
I also made the teachers some goodbye gifts. They said "thanks for quenching my thirst for knowledge" and had koolaid packs in the cups. I also made cards with pictures from the whole year.
I love giving gifts, I really do enjoy giving them more than receiving, especially when it's someone who deserves it and teachers are top on the list!
The morning of graduation Brock was dressed sharp and ready to go
his friend Cameron look adorable as always too
at school the kids watched a movie before graduation to keep them entertained
All the kids looked so cute and grown up in their dress up clothes
10:00 am it was time for the ceremony!
seeing my little man's name in his hat brought so many memories, it made me think of Joey and I trying to decide on what we would name him and then when we decided on "Brock" wondering what he would be like when he was born.
Walking in we were greeted by some sweet little ones and given a program
The kindergarten class was walking to the park that day so the police department was nice enough to come escort them so they could all get their safely.
I had a few minutes before the graduation so I slipped down the hall to wish Ayden good luck on his mile walk he had ahead of him.
He was surprised
back at the ceremony they showed a slideshow of pictures throughout the year
and then Brock's class walked in so tall and proud
Mrs. Hughes spoke a few words
and then they sang their songs
now normally Brock is the class clown so we were nervous on how he would do being on stage with an audience
but his wiggly self got straighter and straighter
the kids that were normally shy open up
I guess he got tired of standing straight so he did bend a little and then yawned.
but then he went right back to "serious Brock"
his buddy Stephen came out of his shell though
and surprisingly Owen did too!
after they sang the kids exited so they could get their caps and gowns on
It's something about a cap and gown, it creates instant tears!
they lined up to enter back in
now my silly Brock started to come out
They circled around the whole gym
and then Mrs. Hughes called them up one by one
and the kids said what they wanted to be when they grew up
while the others giggled
and tried to stay in line
and mom and dad smiled with joy at their babies
some kids were scared
and some made fun of their mom and dads who were cry babies :)
others were very serious
but each child was so special and had left a imprint on our hearts.
Brock said he wanted to be a "worker man" when he grew up
and you know what, he will be a great "worker man" one day
and a fun co worker too
now it was time to go have cake!
daddy carried chairs just like he did for Ayden's graduation
and Brock walked that same ramp he did just over 100+ days before on his first day of preschool.
Now this is the part where mom really gets teary eyed
At the reception we had cake & punch
My sweet grandma made it to Brock's graduation
and Brock got his diploma
and told me I could take 5 pictures and "THAT'S IT"
so we got 3 with mom and dad
1 with "itshugrandma"
and the last one with his wonderful teachers, Mrs. Sasser and Mrs. Hughes
and that was it, my five photos were it :/
This last picture that I snapped is my absolute favorite.
This picture sums up Brock's whole year.
"School is fun but hold me and take me home"
We are so proud of you Brock!
