This year I wanted a place with the beautiful leaves, cotton and a sunny day.... well, that's exactly what I found when out yard sale'ing on a Saturday morning! I saw a perfect front yard with exactly that so I stopped and asked the owner, Melody, if I could use her yard the next day and she said sure!
Sunday, November 4th we loaded up the kids and Joey's mom came too (she takes our group shots) and we headed over to the the front yard of a complete strangers' house for our Christmas card photos! :)
That morning had been a rough morning. I sent Joey to get the kids haircut "short on the sides and long on the top" and well, as you can see he didn't hear the last part of my statement. I have to admit I was LIVID but after a couple hours I was ok (a little) after a couple of days I could laugh about it. Funny how the devil trys to come in just before joyous times and wreck it huh and pretty sad that I almost let him win :/
Well, our joy wasn't stole that day.
Well, our joy wasn't stole that day.
Swings, leaves and children's giggles have a way of just melting your heart.
The boys immediately wanted to climb the tree.
I can remember being a little girl climbing trees for hours!
My poor kids, their mommy hovered over them the five minutes they were in the tree!
Now these are my favorite pictures!
It ended up being a fun time for the family. The kids had a blast, mom got over the boy's hair (on the bright side they won't need hair cuts until the summer) and we got our Christmas card done.
Our family is crazy and hyper and we drive each other nuts sometimes but at the end of the day we wouldn't trade each other for anything! I am blessed and love my life!
Psalm 118:24 - "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (NIV)
