The Friday after Thanksgiving we headed to Brodgen Methodist Church for our annual
"picking out the Christmas tree"......
Grandma and Papa Lancaster got a big one
and we always get the littlest one (so it will fit in our house with low ceilings)
the first one daddy picked out was perfect!
we loaded it up and headed back to Grandma and Papa's house to get it ready
We let the tree sit for 24 hours to let the branches fall and the started decorating Saturday night!
The kids were doing their "happy dance"
Every year Joey's mom gets the kids special ornaments with their names on them. The kids had a blast looking at theirs they received over the past 4,5 and 6 years.
This year our family ornament had an extra name... Twister our dog we added earlier in the year
Last year the kids made a train over a months time (one car at a time) so that made a neat addition to our decorations.
I'm so blessed that one of their favorite parts of decorating is putting up the nativity scene
You can't leave out making a list for Santa...
Ayden is growing up so fast! I can't believe he is old enough to write his own list out now!
Ayden also made a wreath this year from all the left over tree branches and pine cones from grandma's neighbors yard
Not bad for a 6 year old!!!!
This year I tried something new too; I wrapped all the gifts like I've always wanted to (all fancy and stuff) thanks to a wrapping party hosted by MOPS.
The tree turned out beautiful and we are now ready for another wonderful Christmas!
