Emmy Haveri is one of my dearest friends. We have know each other for several years and she's been there in the toughest and in the greatest times in my life. Emmy, along with a small group of women have been mentors in my life and I would not be the Women of God, Wife, Mother and Person I am today without them. So, when I got the text that Emmy had broke her ankle of course I wanted to do anything I could to make her life a little easier as she recuperated from surgery and prepared for a long battle of physical therapy. Being confined to a wheel chair and keeping her leg elevated for weeks meant she needed a special place in the center of her home where she could relax. Surprisingly this place was the garage that had became the family room. Now at first glance the average person would run but not me, I saw potential and got excited!
I was reminded looking at the garage of a few years back when we got the text Olivia, Emmy's daughter had cancer at the age that my son Ayden is now. Just like on this day, a group of us ladies got together and cleaned Emmy's house from top to bottom to get it ready for them to come home (we were hoping that week)...... The cancer was really aggressive but praise God Olivia was able to come home a few months later!
On this day Olivia, completely cancer free!, her sisters and brother all chipped in to help
Kirsten and Betty two more dear ladies to me also were on the revamp team!
Remodels have always been exciting to me. I love taking something that is old and seems useless and turning in into some beautiful and useful. That's exactly what Jesus does for me, I am nothing without Him, he transforms me daily into something beautiful and useful.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
We worked late into the night, as I pulled out of the driveway, it was awesome to see that dark room literally beaming with blue!
The next day with paint on the walls it was now time to add the little touches
With the room done it was now time to bring the "queen with a cast" into her "castle"
Later that night Emmy wrote: As I lay here tonight on the couch with my leg elevated (Drs.. Orders ) I am once again in awe! Gods promise to work everything for our good continues to unfold before my very eyes! Not only was our family brought a delicious meal be someone I have never even met, but for two days now, I have had a team of ladies and gage surprising me by making over my the "man cave" in our home. They have worked for hours and hours turning this room into the most beautiful room I have ever seen! It's now a beautiful peaceful place for me to rest and heal! There aren't words to really express the love that my family and i have received since my accident. Thank you to all that have had a hand in blessing our family! Love you all!
You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.-Genesis 50:20
