Today I did something that I've never tried before. I got breakfast at McDonalds, now I could stop here because me getting to eat breakfast is a first, but having time to go through a drive thru and still make it to work on time, well that's simply a miracle. But that's not it.... As placed my order I kept being drawn to my side mirror. I noticed a mom, I knew it was a mom because you just know, we have that look about us. You know the look of "did I leave the coffee pot on" are the kids going to do good today" "is my makeup blended right" etc... She looked like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders . As I was pulling up to the window to pay I quickly thought should I? will she be offended? are you sure God? Now mind you I only had about 15 seconds, but women can really go through some thoughts in 15 seconds! Well, I got to the window and said "can I pay for the lady behind me" she smiled and said "yes, I'll give her a receipt"
I tell this story not to brag and say look what I did but just as a reminder to share some kindness. That $9.56 meal that was paid for blessed a mom and two children but it blessed me way more. The joy that I felt thinking of how she must have felt to get to the window and realize, hey somebody gave me a break today or even better "God, you knew I needed that today". I don't know why God choose that very moment to allow me to be able to bless someone but I am so grateful for that moment. I told Joey I wish could do that everyday.
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2
Now, it wouldn't be a true "Amy" moment without a little bit of humor so here comes my "laughter for today"
as I was trying to speed off so the lady would not have any idea of who paid for her meal two old people were trying to cross over and I nearly ran them over so note to self, plan your getaway better and try not to kill anyone while your trying to bless someone. :)
Wow, three babies in three years, married 11 years and loving every bit of it!
