Ayden's 3rd Birthday

Yesterday, March 26th my baby turned three years old! We started the day with a surprise; pirates had come in the night and stole his diapers and left a big Happy Birthday sign on the wall. Before we left to go to daycare Joey checked the mailbox and grandma Lancaster had mailed him a birthday card. Ayden was so excited when he opened his card and it sang a song about three little fishys. The whole way to school he opened and shut his card and then when he got to school he went to every adult in the building to show off what his grandma had got him. Since his diapers were stolen Ayden had to wear big boy underwear all day. He had a few accidents but he had the cutest little episode with the director of the daycare, Mrs. Leanne. She said that when she took him to the bathroom before nap time in the kid's bathroom Ayden said “my pee pee won’t come out in here” she asked why and he said “because I will go down the drain” so finally after some other statements didn’t seem to change his mind she said “do you want to go to the big bathroom” he said yeah so they went to the adults bathroom and she sat him down on the toilet. Ayden looked at her just as serious as he could be and said“boys don’t sit down to pee!" LeAnne stood him up and peed like a champ! Later that day he had a party with his friends at school and enjoyed giving all of them a goody bag. He had picked out lizards for the boys and bracelets for the girls a couple of days before. After school we rushed home so he could have his real birthday party. We had corndogs, chips, and juice just like he wanted, opened presents and finished the night with cupcakes, ice cream and a group photo with his friends. At about 9:30 last night Ayden snuggled up to me as I was watching Grey's Anatomy and said "momma do you remember when I was in your belly and I kicked and came out and said wha wha? At this point I could feel tears coming down, I told him yes, he was my first little baby and I remember him being in my belly and I pointed to the photo above my bed of him laying on my chest when he was first born. Time goes by so quickly, yesterday he was three and before I know it he's going to be snuggling up with his own children listening to them telling him "remember when" stories. Yesterday was great day and I will cherish the memories that were made!

  1. I read this and I am fighting back tears. I'm sitting here looking at my first born, Grace and remembering all the moments we had together before any brothers entered into her world=D I love my moments alone with her and I know we will share so many more in the future. You will have many precious moments with your kids too. They grow up fast so we need to hold on to these precious moments while they last. When these moments are over we will definitely need each other and a big box of tissue ;D

Oh by the way.....I love Grey's Anatomy. My Aunt Donna got me watching it. I've been hooked since. =D great show!
