Yes, that's right Father's Day W E E K E N D. Joey's mom, Terri and I sent Joey and his dad, Gordon off for the weekend. They went to Gatesville, NC to a place called Millcreek Pond to camp, fish & canoe. They left Friday about 2:00 and got to their destination about 5:30-6:00. They rented canoes and had to canoe all of their gear to the camp site across a swamp. Gross.... :( They enjoyed it though. They set up camp, fixed some cheeseburgers (if Gordon has anything to do with it you're going to eat good!) Joey said that he didn't sleep too good because of the fear of what kind of animals were around and a mystery man that was camping near by that no one knew was out there. The next day Saturday after fishing a little the heat got to Gordon so he tried laying down to feel better and that didn't do anything so they decided to pack up and head home. They got home Saturday about 6:00 pm.

While the boys were away I spent quality time with my babies. Friday night the kids and I ate at a buffet restaurant in Smithfield with my mom and dad. I have to admit I was a little hesitant about going into this restaurant because it looked really run down and scary on the outside. Ayden looked up at me when we were walking in and said "mommy are you scared to eat here?" he must have heard me talking to myself when we pulled up. Once we got inside it was nice. It was like a McCalls but more of a homey feel. The kids were so good in there, I was so proud of them. I am so lucky to have all of my kids 3 & under because they all ate for free! Bethany and Ayden ate like a champ, I am so glad they didn't make us pay for food by the pound for those two! Brock ate good for him. We left there and my mom and dad came over to my house to see the boy's new bunk beds and hang out with them while I bathed Bethany and put her to bed. They sang gospel songs with my dad, that's their favorite thing to do with him. My dad will find the weirdest old music on satellite and then sing at the top of his lungs and those boys will echo every word, it's so cute. After my parents left the boys helped me shred papers, that was a task that Joey was dreading so I decided to make his day with completing that. We all settled in about 10:00

Saturday morning the kids were up at 6:00 am. One day those children will bless me with sleep but I have a feeling it's going to be a long time away.......
We got up, ate our traditional Saturday morning breakfast, scrambled eggs and French toast (lots of coffee for me) then got dressed and headed off to the barber shop. I love taking the kids to the barber shop because they love it so. Ayden and Brock love all the airplanes and old men in there and Bethany loves the attention she gets when she grins or attempts to walk. Ayden got his second haircut at this barber, Joey had to hold him down while he screamed his head off. This Saturday the lady that gave him his hair cut over 2 years ago was working and it was so neat to see my red head run right up to the chair and practically push the man in front of him out of the chair so he could get his haircut next. He sat in that chair just a grinning. Brock on the other hand still hates getting his hair cut. He loves the whole idea of going to the barber shop as long as you don't put him in the chair. Right before Ayden got his haircut Bethany had a messy diaper. Here I was in a barber shop no public bathroom, what to do? Luckily I had a changing pad from my pack n play in the truck of my car so I put the boys in the backseat to keep them confined while Bethany got her diaper changed in the trunk. Smart thinking... I later gave Joey this challenged and asked him what he would have done and he gave me answers that make me scared to let him take the children out until they are all potty trained :)

Well, after we left the barber shop we met Terri (Joey's mom, "grandma with the gator" as the boys call her at Target for shopping. Brock had some birthday money to spend so Target is always fun because they have the neatest stuff in the dollar isle and it's right when you walk in the door so if melt downs occur you are not to far from a quick getaway. We found all of the father's day gifts and some place mats for the kids and then we got adventurous and brave and pushed the cart around the store. The boys got shirts from grandma and we checked out. Next we took the kids to Chick fil a. This is another one of my favorites, it's so kid friendly and the staff are so nice and helpful. The kids got kids meals and then I let them play in the playroom. This was their first time in there and they loved it. Ayden and Brock were scared to go down the slide but Bethany wasn't! That child climbed right up the slide and would have went all the way to the top if we didn't pull her down. Bethany just learned how to walk a couple of days ago and boy she is on the move! We headed home for some cool down time. Terri came over and helped me paint their hands for Father's day cards and then watched the kids while I cleaned up the yard for about 30 minutes. I had my brother Shawn mow my grass, another task marked off of Joey's to do list to surprise him. The boys fell asleep after that and I finished all my inside cleaning. About 5:00 we went to my grandma's house (the kid's "itshugrandma") so they could spend an hour with her while Bethany and I did our weekly grocery shopping. After that we ate with my mom and dad and then headed home for baths and bed. Joey was home by the time we got home. He called and said "that was the best Father's day gift so far" talking about the grass being cut and weed eated.

Sunday Joey was greeted with three babies running up to the bed saying "happy daddy's day" with a gift that they had picked out and a card made from their precious little hand prints. We got ready and went to church. Joey got to stay home and relax since technically he was supposed to still be camping.
After church we went to Joey's parents for lunch. The kid's wrestled with their papa and played outside. It was the perfect day with the breeze blowing just

perfect.

Then we went to my mom and dad's and they ate again and spent time with their other papa who they call "Papa at Aunt Sammie's house" we headed home about 5:30 right after "no nap melt downs" began and bathed the kids and put them to bed. Ayden stayed up a little longer but I bribed him to going to bed by letting

him sleep on the top bunk. He stayed so still on that bed I thought he was a sleep for a long time and about 30 minutes later went to check on him, I peaked over the rail and he moved his eyes toward me with that serious look on his face without moving his head. I busted out laughing. He finally fell asleep and the Lancaster family was all officially out by 10:00 which is a pure miracle!
Great Father's day weekend!
