The kids have been learning about camp outs at daycare so we decided to roast marsh mellows with them over a real fire. We have a fire pit built into our patio furniture so it was pretty easy to do. After Bethany fell asleep I told the boys to look out the window so they could see their dad getting the fire ready. It is so precious to see their faces glued to the window and then watch as they jumped up and down in anticipation. The whole event only lasted about ten minutes but it was great. The boys loved roasting their marsh mellows; they didn't particularly enjoy the taste but loved when the marsh mellows were on fire. After we cleaned up the boys and I made Grace a birthday card and got her gift ready, got baths and settled in for the night.
Saturday was a big day. It was my best friend, Danielle's little girl's birthday. Grace was turning five! Danielle lives in Sanford so it would be my first time driving with all three by myself on a trip that was over an hour so I was nervous about how they would do.

The kids were up like normal around 6:30 am so we had a few hours of cartoons and playing before we left at 10:00 for the party. Our first stop was about 3 miles down the road to see daddy working on a "big truck" as Brock calls it and then we were officially on our way. Luckily about 45 minutes into the trip the kids were out so it was a pretty peaceful drive there.
With all three carseats side by side in the back seat if one gets fidgety or feels like pulling an ear we can get into a mess quick. We got to the party right on time at 12:00. The kids had a blast,

Ayden loved the water,

Brock loved
looking at the water, and

Bethany was happy with her mom holding her or at least within a few feet of her :) We had hotdogs, hamburgers, chips & cake. At one point I thought I was super women and was trying to hold Bethany in one arm and the three plates of hotdogs with ketchup on the other arm. The plates and ketchup on the floor and covering Bethany proved me wrong. Bethany was so hungry the ketchup covering her didn't phase her a bit she just started licking herself and was good to go. It was nice to let the kids run and play and be able to fellowship with other moms and just enjoy the beautiful day. The kids were exhausted when we left around 3:30 so they fell asleep again on the way home making it a peaceful ride home too.

Next we had my mom's birthday so we stopped at my parents house on the way home and had more hot dogs & cake. We officially walked into the door a little after 7:00 just in time for baths & bed. Sunday was a normal day; church, lunch at grandma's, playtime outside and getting ready for a new week. I've learned that every day, every minute is a gift from God. I enjoy the small moments like watching my babies eat or watching an expression on their face. Time goes by so quickly, before I know it they'll be all grown up!
