Baby Brock

Brock has been acting out at school lately so I decided to take him out for a mommy and Brock day. Brock is the middle child with a very demanding baby sister and a red headed big brother that loves to be the center of attention so it's always a treat for him to get some one on one attention. Brock's favorite things are shopping, cheese, & chicken so we started out with those things in mind. The first place we went was McFly's barber shop for a hair cut. Brock has come such a long was with his haircuts. The first 3 or 4 haircuts he would stay still but scream and let those huge crocodile tears fall the whole time, it was pitiful; now he jumps right up and keeps a grin on his face, it's absolutely precious. The barber shop ended up being packed so we decided to come back later. We headed for Brock's favorite place Target, "shopping" as he calls it. We went to the dollar isle at the front of the store and I told him he could pick out anything he wanted to. My baby boy was so sweet, he would pick something out and say "this is for Ayden", or "this is for Bethany, " I had to beg him to pick something out for himself, but he just wanted to get something for his brother and sister. He can be so tough at times but in the drop of a hat he can melt your heart. Finally Brock decided that he would get a cow. I let him pay for his cow and then we headed to his next favorite place, Chick fil'A. Brock insisted on taking his cow in with him and as we walked in the door there was a large cardboard cutout of a cow wearing a multicolored afro wig. Brock immediatley started screaming "I'm scared, I'm scared of the cow" (now, mind you he is holding a large plastic cow in his arms as he is saying this) so we hurried by the cardboard cow and ordered him some chicken tenders and me a chicken sandwich. Brock sat like such a big boy and ate his food while his new pet cow watched patiently. It didn't take long at all and his chicken was gone and he was ready to head for the next adventure (which was home to his brother & sister). When we got hom Ayden & Bethany were taking a nap so Brock woke them up to show them the Brontasaurous Dinosaur we named "Brock a Saurus" that was for Ayden and the red frying pan that Brock picked out for Bethany. The kids loved their toys and it only took about 15 minutes and my sweet Brock that I had spent the day with showing him only attention so he would not act out anymore used his new pet cow to beat his sister over the head. Kids, you gotta love em' !!!!! Brock has such a sweet spot in my heart. He is a year old and a couple of inches taller than his baby sister but they both weight the same amount. Everynight when we give the kids a bath Brock is the last one out and he always says "Hold me like a baby". Depending on who is bathing him Joey or I will scoop him up in his towel cover his head and parade him around and say "look momma or look daddy! it's a new baby, a new baby Brockie! We'll pull that towel from his face to see a little sweet baby boy grinning so hard all you see is a mouth full of teeth. We make a huge deal of the new baby we found in the bathtub and gentle put him down all snuggled up in his towel to get him dressed. It's a small routine that happens everynight but means so much and something we look forward to as bathtime is near. "Look Daddy, it's a baby Brockie, just what we always wanted"
