Every year we start getting ready for Christmas the beginning of November. The first thing on our agenda is getting the kids Christmas photo taken. This year we used Sears again but tried going first thing in the morning which was a life saver. Grandma Lancaster bought the kids perfect little outfits like she normally does and we rolled into Sears at 9:00 am on Saturday morning with the double stroller and single stroller. The kids were in the silliest mood that morning so the photographer tried to get one of them all smiling and finally she said "ok guys this is the last one" and of course it was perfect!

Next on our agenda is the Family Christmas Card.
Every year since I was pregnant with Ayden we have mailed out our family Christmas card.

When I was pregnant with Ayden it said
With Love,
Amy, Joey, & baby coming soon

When I was pregnant with Brock it said
With Love,
Joey, Amy, Ayden, & Baby #2

When I was pregnant with Bethany it said
With Love,
Joey, Amy, Ayden, Brock, & Baby #3

And the next year was
With Love,
Joey, Amy, Ayden, Brock, Bethany & Baby #4..... just kidding!

This year the joke was wore out so it just said
With love,
Joey, Amy, Ayden, Brock, & Bethany Lancaster
The day after Thanksgiving is the day all the "Best" girls go out shopping for black Friday. Usually it's me, Joey's mom (Terri), grandma (Margie), aunt (Donna) , and we have also had his other aunt (Deanna) and his niece (Kayla) join us. This year I wasn't able to go but hopefully next year I'll be there and take a photo. I can't believe I have never got a photo of all of us!
Later that evening it's time to get the tree! For the past 4 years we have got our tree from the Brogden Methodist Church. The boy scout group there has a group go to the mountains and get fresh Christmas trees. Joey and I don't splurge on a lot of things but a fresh Christmas tree is one treat we look forward to every year.

Next is decorating time!

Every year since Joey and I have been married Joey's mom has given us a special ornament to put on our tree. Our tree is filled with ornaments that have been given to us over the years and my most cherished ones are the ones that we get from his mom. Every year when we are putting the ornaments on it makes me think back to the year dated on the ornament and cherish the memories that were made that year and thank God for the blessing of another year.

The next thing is decorating at grandma Lancaster's house. This year the boys got to help put the reindeer up! We had to teach Brock that they were not real reindeer and therefore he could not pull it's antlers and yell "getty up" and make it fly.

And now we are officially ready for Christmas! Next comes the fun Christmas parties, presents, and spending time with family. It never fails you always here "we should do this more often" and yet we don't? I remember being a little girl wanting the day to pass by quicker and my grandma would tell me "don't wish time away because you're going to blink your eyes and be old like me one day." She was so right, now I blink my eyes and it's already February! It look me this long just to write about getting ready for Christmas, it will be Thanksgiving before I actually get the Christmas blog done! Time does go faster and faster so my advice to all, myself included, would be to all to slow down and enjoy every moment, even the smallest because time waits for no one.
