Our Easter started with church at 9:00 am. For the last four years Joey has been an actor/performer in the Easter drama at our church. He plays the role of Peter when he was younger.
Every year around February/March we get ready for him to go from our handsome young man to an older scruffy looking guy with a beard.
This was Joey's last year in the play so his parents and my dad came to see his last performance.
After church we headed to my mom and dad's house for Easter dinner. Sunday was my brother's birthday and the Friday before was mine so my mom made us our favorite cakes; mine was a hoho cake and my brother's was a German chocolate cake and we celebrated our birthday's together like we used to when we were kids.
Next we had an Easter egg hunt with the family. My brother and Joey hid the first set of eggs and the kids hid the next set. Their hiding consisted of throwing the eggs in the ditch but it was cute to see them being so sneaky with their hiding.

The kids had so much fun just enjoying the sun, swinging and playing in PaPa's big truck!
Next we headed over to Joey's parents house for more Easter baskets and egg hunts!

Ayden and Bethany decorated some eggs, but Brock wasn't too thrilled about arts and crafts time :0)

Easter Sunday is such a special day. We love coloring eggs and making baskets but the most amazing part is watching the Easter drama and remembering what our Lord and Savior did all those years ago for each and every one of us. Without the cross who knows where I would be today. Thank you Lord for saving me, thank you for my family, thank you for my friends and most of all thank you for dying on a cross and coming back three days later for me!
Amen
