Friday night my mom and I headed out for the airport about 10:30. Right as we were pulling out of the driveway "Aunt Debbie" (my mom's big sister) called to let her know she was about to board her plane in Atlanta and would be ready to meet us at midnight. Even though we were picking my aunt up in the middle of the night my mom still got dressed up. It is so neat to see how my mom lights up when her siblings are in town.

About

five years ago to surprise my mom for her 41st birthday we surprised her by flying in my aunt and uncle. I thought she was going to die when she opened the door to see her "big gift" and it was two of siblings standing there!
Well, we got to the airport right on time, we only had to wait about 15 minutes and my aunt came down the escalator. My aunt was loving like she always is. She immediately started hugging and sending out the "I love you's" My family isn't a very touchy, feely family so it's nice to get those when she's down. We headed out and got to the gate and I realized I lost my parking ticket. I told the lady I forgot it and she said "no problem, that will be $25. .... are you kidding me? $25 for a 20 minutes of parking! She told me that I was welcome to climb the hill and go looking for my ticket... no thanks I just paid the $25 and declined on the middle of the night hike and game of find and seek at the International Airport!
We stopped for coffee and got home with no problems. I dropped my aunt off and then my mom and got home a little after 2:00 am.

The next day Saturday the kids and I went over to my grandma's for our usual visit. It was such a pretty day. Bethany slept in the car with the breeze blowing and the boys had a picnic lunch outside and played on their scooters and bikes. After Bethany woke up and ate we watered flowers and played outside. Four hours later Aunt Debbie and grandma were wore out so we headed home to give them time to take a nap.
Sunday thru Tuesday my mom visited and the rest of us stayed busy with our normal week. Wednesday Uncle Jeff came in. My mom and aunt Debbie headed to the airport about 8:30 am armed with a GPS and coffee and picked their brother up. They got him picked up and stopped for breakfast/lunch at the famous Waffle House :) .

Later that night the whole family stopped by and enjoyed Uncle Jeff telling stories and being able to just fellowship.
Uncle Jeff reminds me so much of my grandpa White that passed away over 10 years ago; he looks a lot like him and just lightens up a room when he comes in with his personality.

The boys took a liken to him the most when they found out that he drives "Big trucks" for a living.
Thursday the whole family took Uncle Jeff out for his first taste of Andy's. The came to the Andy's in Pikeville where I was working that night for dinner. Abby and Chloe were so cute pretending to be waitresses, they followed me around like little puppy dogs and I taught them how to yell "order up please" My uncle loved his cheesesteak and my aunt loved her fresh squeezed organade.

Saturday was a working day. My aunt and uncle stayed busy fixing up grandma's yard and doing odds and ends around the house. My dad stopped by through out the week and helped with tree limbs and odds and ends too

Sunday was the beginning of saying goodbye. We all gathered at my mom and dad's house for Sunday lunch. We had grandma's homemade chicken noodles, some baked spaghetti, salad and my mom's famous ho-ho cake.

After dinner my uncle Jeff played the guitar for everyone and then we watched a video my brother Wesley put together. Wesley took the video of his first birthday and put it to music, he also reenacted some of the things he did on the video when he was one on his 18th birthday like taking his first steps. He actually went back to the place where he took his first steps and walked the same walk as an 18 year old. It was really amazing. I found my self tearing up watching the video. It was over 20 years old and brought back so many memories as I watched me as a little girl being motherly to my little brothers. The part of the video that hit me the hardest was seeing a shot of my mom being

hugged by her dad (my granddad) My grandpa died when I was a senior in high school. I think out of all of us my mom took it the hardest. My grandpa died of a sudden heart attack. It was a bitter sweet moment watching the video, bitter remember that my grandfather is not here but sweet seeing how we have all grown and matured over the past twenty years.

This is photo is one of me and my brother on Easter with my

grandpa and then another of when I was little sitting on his lap.

After the video it was "play time" my brother Shawn wanted to take the aunt and uncle for a nice ride on his four wheeler. Note to self.... a bald guy with tattoes all over him and the smell of greese is probably not going to go easy on a moving vehicle!

I foolishly let him take my four year old for an "easy ride" and watched as the fourwheeler went up in the air on two wheels, I almost died, my son thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Shawn ended up doing the same thing when my aunt got on and she had the same reaction as me!

Before everyone left we took some family photos and then my mom, grandma and aunt & uncle went to visit my grandpa grave and put fresh flowers out.

When they left there they came over to my house. The boys were sooooo excited to show Uncle Jeff all their big trucks and Brock's drum set!
My aunt is over 50 but she still can run with the best of them.

She

had a ball playing teeter totter with Bethany and enjoy the sunshine.

When it was time to go the kids were really upset.
We sat outside and waved goodbye. It was sad to see them go but it really made me think..... When you get married you leave your

family and cleeve to your spouse; well, that's exactly what my aunt and uncle did, one moved to Canada and one to California. They were honestly able to leave and cleave. Sometimes it's hard for us to let go but when we do the possibilities are endless. Both my aunt and uncle have beautiful families and a great life. It was hard to say goodbye but they will visit again and we will enjoy the moments and time we have with them!
