Thanksgiving Day 2011

Brock and Ayden got started early on Thanksgiving, they both had Thanksgiving feast at their school. Brock brought in cheese (his absolute favorite food) for his feast and Ayden brought in cranberry sauce, which surprisingly he decided that he liked this year.

But nothing compares to "Grandma at the Beach's"
Thanksgiving Meal!

The kids dug right in

Every year Grandma Best amazes me on how she can have dinner completely ready and no dirty dishes! This year she let me in on a little secret.... the sacred check off list that she starts on a week in advance!

After lunch everyone headed outside

Picking pecans seems to be the fun thing to do each year

Nap time is another favorite!

After nap-time it was time for round two!

Next we headed over to my mom and dad's house
Bethany loves babies so having cousin Sebastian over was great
Last Thanksgiving Morgan and Wesley gave us the news that they were expecting
and now little Sebastian is such a sweet spot in our family
Uncle Tommy
and uncle Shawn look rough and tough but they are kids at heart when it comes to all the cousins

DESSERT TIME

Next we headed back to Joey's grandma for round three!
This time cousins Dylan, Tiffany & Nikki were there
and a new addition that will be joining us in May
Ayden had some news of his own.
His "Tom Turkey" made the paper!

So his Tom Turkey would not be eaten, he disguised it as "Daisy, the Jack Russell"
The kids had a blast playing with all their cousins
This year we were missing "papa at the beach" at our Thanksgiving dinner. I found myself looking over at the place he normally sits at dinner and thinking back on last year; even in all the pain he was in from the cancer he managed to gather up the strength to stand for the entire prayer over the meal. God called him home about 3 weeks later but I can honestly say that he stood strong until that time. You will not be forgotten Great Papa Best.
This year when I think of Thanksgiving, I don't think about the food,  I think about the blessings. We are so blessed and I am so grateful!
In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
