Small Group Fun

The church that we attend is a pretty large church so to help everyone have the feeling of a "small group" setting in a large church we have life groups. These groups of 4 to 6 families gather weekly, bi-monthly or monthly, based on what the group desires.
The small group that my family is in is hosted by the Bailey Family. We meet once a week on Sundays and eat, fellowship and have a great time together. It has been so neat this year to just "do life" with everyone in our group.
Recently "Moose" joined our group; he had just opened up his gym A.B.I. so we all joined in supported him for the grand opening during the Pikeville Community Day.
Earlier this year Elizabeth had an outside birthday and Kim graciously did all the face painting as well as the face painting at the Community Day.

We also all volunteered at the military appreciation day as a group.
On Sunday's the adults hang out inside while the kids run around outside. The old ones buddy up with the younger ones and they all look after each other.
The kids always have such a great time at group.
They run and play outside and rarely need toys, just using their imagination.
I think the food is one of their favorites.... I know it's mine :)
For Thanksgiving some of the group took a meal over to a family that did not have one.
For Christmas this year the kids got to open gifts that Valerie bought and then we all got to do something really neat.....

We all roasted smores!

We also did something else really special for Christmas that I thought was the neatest thing of all.
We all chipped in money and gifts and blessed a family that did not have anything under their tree. Eric found a family that had four children and really needed a Christmas blessing so on December 23rd we loaded up vehicles and headed out......
"Come on, smile for the camera"

All the kids chipped in carrying gifts

 Let's go!
It was a great experience to see the look on the family's face when we started carrying gifts in, it really was more of a blessing to give than receive.
This year I was reminded even more how much God has blessed me and my family and am so thankful for it!
We love our small group and look forward to a great year with our extended family!
