Christmas morning at our house

After getting back from my mom and dad's house at 8:00 am the kids were wide awake and ready to open their gifts. They had a sneak peak of their gifts Santa left before we headed out earlier that morning so they were ready to dig in once we got back home.
Ayden got a chalk board that used to be his daddy's when he was his age
 Bethany got a Barbie Car
Brock got a Paper Jamz drum set (Lord help us!)

Ayden showed so much humility opening up his gifts. He got art stuff which he needed but we knew that he really wanted trucks. He smiled and thanked us after he opened them and was so sweet waiting to see what his brother and sister got.
Bethany loved her pjs and necklace

Brock got movies and a watch.

Joey and I were sooooo tired!
Daisy liked her new bed and toy Santa brought her
When we were finished (so Ayden thought) we let the kids go outside so Bethany could play with her Barbie car and it there happen to be a few more gifts outside.....
Ayden's day was absolutely made to see three Tonka trucks waiting for him outside.
The neat thing about them is that they were Joey's old trucks so they were the "real deal" metal trucks.
Later that day Ayden recieved some really nice gifts, big gifts but if you asked him what the best thing he got for Christmas and he will tell you "my Tonka trucks"

Ayden also got another surprise on Christmas, we had some mail for him, it was a Christmas card from his teacher addressed right to him!

Last year on Christmas morning we reinacted the whole "real" Christmas story and read from the bible. After that we decided that reinacting stories doesn't need to be a one day of the year thing so we started having family story times every Sunday before church. Earlier in the month we even got to see a live nativity scene

Joey and I hope that this year more than ever we have instilled in our kids that the Christmas story is not just a story but something that is life changing and real.

We are so thankful for the King of Kings that was born!
