Farms, funnel cakes, fellowship, & fun oh my!

Every Sunday after church we eat with Joey's parents. This Sunday lunch was a treat because dinner was at the fair! We got to the fair a little after 1:00. The kids slept the entire way to the fair so when we woke them up as they were getting out of the car at the fair they were so surprised. We parked right in front of the big farris wheel so Ayden's eyes were about as big as that wheel when he realized where he was. We prepared for the fair trip the night before, loading up a double stroller and single stroller and a bag with diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, snacks, extra pacifiers, my camera, & sippy cups and juice boxes. Our first stop was to feed the babies, by babies I mean the three little ones and two big one's (Joey & his dad) who both get very cranky when they don't eat :) We headed to the Belfast Fire Department stand for hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn chicken, & fries. Strollers have come a long way, (we were so lucky to get ours for gifts) all the kids has a nifty little tray to eat on so we didn't even have to get them out. Brock & Bethany ate popcorn chicken and fries and Ayden had chicken and a hot dog and a fries, Joey and I got a burger and fries. It was a really good lunch. Next we headed to see some animals. We saw horses & cows and even a donkey named Eeyore. We saw some "big boy" gators and tractors and then some chickens, rabbits & ducks. I honestly thought we were going to get thrown out of the poultry exhibit. Ayden saw some geese and when he laughed they would honk at him so what do you think he did, you guessed it.... he would laugh harder and scream and then they would get louder. That child had all the birds in that place with their feathers ruffled! It was hillarious. Brock with his silly self is so dramatic and funny, he would he act like he was going to rub the animals and then yank his hand back and act like they bit it or something and then he would make a funny face. It's one of those things you just have to see in person, can't explain it. The main thing that we were looking for though was some "piggies" Brock had been asking to "ride a piggy" for a couple weeks now. Last week we even drove around trying to find a farmer with pigs that would let us look at them. My dad had a friend of his with a cute little pig but when we got to his house we had just missed him so I really, really, wanted to find Brock a pig. Well, when we left the poultry exhibit there in the corner was a big ol' momma and all her little baby piggies! Brock got excited. The way you know he is happy about something is when he gets quiet. He will hoop and holler about something he wants and then when it arrives he just quiets right down and gets shy and absorbs the moment. After we left the piggies we stopped by the tractors again and let Bethany get a little exercise and then looked for some rides for the boys. We stopped first at the motorcycles, we had to wait a little bit so Ayden could be the driver but it didn't take too long. Joey's mom was so proud watching her little grand baby be a big boy on that ride, you could see it in her face. Ayden is a spitting image of his dad and since Joey was an only child him and his mom are very close so watching Ayden grow up I know is just like seeing her little Joey all over again. I don't want my babies to grow up, I wish they were little forever, they are so precious. Brock & Ayden were all excited about riding a horsy, I knew Ayden would ride and Brock when it came down to it would start hollering "I don't want to" with his face all scrunched up and swinging his arms. Sure enough I was right. Ayden jumped right on the horse and Brock just stayed behind and watched. Just watch, next year Brock will be there first one in line. Ayden first got to ride on the pretend horsy but it didn't matter to him he still yelled "whoohoo and getty up" the whole time with his proud papa by his side. Then we found some reason ponies so I walked with him while he rode one named Smokey. I have no idea why I volunteered to walk with him, I am not very good with animals and I know that animals can smell fear so I probably wasn't the best one to go along but I did and it was nice. We finished our trip to the fair up with fishing and funnel cakes. Brock won a Nemo and Ayden a orange lobster and then they got a bite of funnel cake and we loaded up in the car. Our next destination was cousin Abby's 4th birthday party at Herman Park. Abby and Ayden are six months apart but they look like twins to me. Abby has strawberry blonde hair like Ayden and they are both just as skinny and energetic as can be. Abby was so excited to see her cousins. When we got there she came running to us and Ayden took off running to her, it was so cute. We were not able to stay very long only about 30 minutes and then we had to head to our next place which was small group at Katie and Andy's house. The kids played and Joey and I were ministered too. Katie made mac and cheese for the kids for and loaded baked potatoes for the adults for dinner. We got home about 8:30 that night and boy were the kids pooped! It was a great day!
