Mother's Day 2012

Ahhh, Mother's Day! The one day that we moms get to be thanked for the service that we do for our family all year long!
This year we decided to give all the moms in our life a bottle of "sleep"
Each bottle had bath salts to help relax you and cause you to sleep better, hey that's what I would dream of... if I got enough sleep to have dreams! :)
We made enough for all of Ayden, Brock & Bethany's teachers to get a bottle
after school Brock surprised me with a sweet little Mother's Day plant that he had painted the outside of.
Bethany said she would drive me around for her gift (I decided NOT to take her up on that :)
and Ayden had a whole backpack of surprises.

this little piece of paper meant the world to me
It had questions about mom and he answered them all by himself and wrote them in his sweet little handwriting.
Here is what it said.....
My mom is 31

she likes to mak the bed
(the whole house can be a mess but if the bed is made, I'm good :)

The best think she cooks is pancakes
(I've made them pancakes at least once a week since they have been able to chew)

Her favorite food is cak (chocolate to be specific!)

Her favorite thing to do to relax is go to the bech (beach)
(I love going to the beach with my family, it's so easy to just turn off the world when we are down there and enjoy the family)

we like to mak stuf together
(since Ayden has been a little, little boy we have made things together. He is my child that will stay up with me into the wee hours of the morning making gifts or baking something (which usually burns) just to see the outcome.

She is really good at parays
(this is supposed to be parties, he spells like his mom!) this is another thing he nailed, I love to give the kids parties, I love planning them and organizing them, birthdays are soooo much fun to me!

As you can see, my mom is special because
she hugx alot!

I was one proud momma to have my little boy know his mom so well
his next gift Ayden was really excited to give me

it was his precious little handprint in stone perfect for our garden

the next day (Saturday) we all got together to celebrate another special mom in our lives, "grandma at the beach" as my kids call her (Joey's grandma and the kid's greatgrandma)
she got a "spa day" from her kids and we got a delicious meal!
 Sunday was the official day
I was woke up to a clean house (thanks Joey and Ayden) and the smell of breakfast!
Joey had the kids work on my Mother's Day gift
 Ayden took all the credit

but Brock chimed in and took some of the credit back

they made me a frame and wrote all the reasons they love their mom

 "it was dad's idea"
 I loved it
after church it was off to celebrate Mother's day with my mom and grandma
we all ate at Texas Steakhouse in Smithfield
all the kids and grandkids showed up

it was a nice, chaotic dinner just like I'm used to so I felt at home when the kids started screaming and jumping around at the end :)
later that night I read my babies a book, kissed them goodnight and was reminded when I saw my sweet little sleeping ones why I love being a mom.
Kids have a wonderful way of driving us completely crazy but melting our hearts in a skinny minute. My life would be so incomplete without my babies and I love them so much and am so thankful to be their mom.
