A special Saturday with "Itshugrandma"

Some of my fondest memories as a little girl were with my grandma. My dad's parents live in Canada so my mom's mom was the only family I had close by. I used to stay with my grandma all the time. I remember using the little wooden step stool (that my kids now use) to climb on the counter to see what kind of special cereal I could have for breakfast in the morning. My grandma taught me how to cross stitch  sew, play the piano, and numerous other things when I was little. Alot of the things I unfortunately did not continue on with like the sewing and playing the piano but the memories of learning about them I still keep in my heart. My grandma is twenty plus years older now but I am so blessed that she now continues the same traditions with my children.
When Ayden was first born my grandma kept him every Wednesday night while Joey and I went to church. She would feed him, bath him, sing to him and rock him to sleep in the hour and a half we were gone. When I would walk up to the door with Ayden on Wednesday he would start kicking, she would open the door and lean down and say "it's you grandma!" and Ayden would put a huge grin on his face, hence the name "itshugrandma" that six years later she is still called.
Over the past three summers my grandma has kept each of my little ones and taught each of them different things. Ayden learned how to earn money by doing nice chores and how to get grandma to feed him at all times of the day :), Brock learned how to write his name and Bethany is learning how to cook.
Because my grandmother poured into me when I was little I want to do the same for her now that she is getting old. On this Saturday Bethany and I headed to grandmas to wrap all the presents we had bought for her to give out at Christmas, put up her Christmas decorations and do a little cleaning. Even though my grandma has diabetes she is ALWAYS in the process of making or cleaning up something sweet! Today's sweet of choice was rice krispy squares.

They turned out great and we even saved a little bit for dad.
afterward Bethany slipped outside and I found the sweetest site when I went to check on her

We all headed outside to pick some fresh holly leaves for the nativity scene
each year the nativity scene gets prettier and prettier to me.

next we added all the little Christmas nick knacks all over the living room
and the stockings were hung by the chimney with care.....

 the presents were all wrapped
and put under the tree we decorated
and in just a few hours Christmas arrived at grandma's house!
I am so thankful for my grandma and everything she does for me and my family!
