Christmas morning Bethany and Brock were up first.
Santa left Brock and Ayden a tv!
and Bethany got a talking owl bank
When the kids were first born one tradition that we started was to read the "true Christmas story" before we did anything else.
This year we learned from Pastor Ferrell's sermon that was exactly what happened with Jesus. When the wise men came to present him with gifts they first worshiped THEN gave presents!
The kids always use the nativity scene to act out the Christmas story too
As many times as the story has been read,
it always amazes me to think of what it must have been like that very first Christmas.
As we were finishing up Papa Arbeau showed up. He had forgot to pick up the gifts he bought for my mom that he had me wrap.
we finished the story, Papa left and.....
now it was time for gifts!
Since the kids have been born we give each of them three gifts
hey, if it was enough for Jesus, it should be just fine for us!
You can never have a camera quick enough to catch the expressions when "THAT GIFT", the one you've wanted so bad has been opened!
Ayden was a army boat
Brock's was a army canoe
Bethany loves everything!
Mine was the brown boots!!!!
Joey's was a shirt with a "skinny tie"
After opening all the kids from me Joey decided that he had one more for me.
He brought in a piece of wood that was a promise to build me a kitchen table with bench seating like I've always wanted. How sweet!!!!
after presents we actually got to eat breakfast. This was the first year since we have been married that we didn't go straight to my mom and dads and I have to say it was really nice to enjoy it with the kids and not be so rushed.
The boys went to war, literally, playing with their new toys
Before we got ready to go to Grandma and Papa Lancaster's house we had to let Daisy and Twister get their Christmas present
They loved their bones but most of all loved having a family. This was Daisy's 2nd Christmas with us but Twister's first so it was a good day for both of them.
