Brock eventually got the corvette bed
and Ayden took the taller bed
A couple years later when Ayden was 3 and Brock 2 we introduced them to to bunk beds
(Mrs. Jeri from work gave them to the boys)
Looking back I can't believe I let me three year old sleep on the top bunk!!!!!
most of the time they slept on the bottom though :)
they were also given a train table(thanks Stamps family)!
Earlier this year they were ready for "separate beds"
and now that Ayden is 6 and Brock 5 they decided it was time for the Cars theme to be retired.
Hmmmm, what in the world would be a good theme for growing boys???? Well there were a few hints of what was to come...... Earlier this year for Ayden's 6th birthday the boys got to see a very special room, Mr. Neal from mommy's work let them see his secret batman room.
Then there was these cute little guys throughout the years....
and there it was.... A BATMAN AND SUPERMAN ROOM!!!!!
Mr. Neal gave me a neat site to look at cool batman and superman pictures and I found this
What better picture for a brothers room than the two super heros skaking hands????
So we started selling their cars items and each time we sold an item we'd buy an item.
One dresser was sold to buy two new black dressers. We gave the other one away to a sweet little boy named Ryan who was just starting his Cars room.
Selling the rest of these items purchased new comforters
a new rug
new pictures and
a sweet new mural for their room!
it was a lot of fun to sell the items and meet people that had little ones just begining their cars themed room. It was also a great learning experience for the boys to be able to see that they had to earn the new items for their rooms.
With the items being sold Joey took on the task of repainting their room. It was so sad to see the mural go first :(
Paige, an awesome talented young lady from church came and painted the mural for the boys new room.
She traced it then painted. It took her about three days working a couple hours at a time and it turned out perfect!!!
Next mom added some cute pictures and used their wooden letters that were originally in their nursery.
and you can't forget about the telephone booth over the window!
I made it from a table cloth and white duck tape.
and then the final touches came at Christmas time, a flat screen (which was literally a blessing from God! the first one smashed while trying to install it and by the grace of God there was a lady selling one for $100 that was actually better than the first one!), a game system (thanks Mrs. Jaclyn!), blankets and some action figures.
The final result was amazing and such a fun ride to get there!!!!
Over the years our kids have been so blessed, my hope is that they will remember these times and do the same for others!
