Christmas Eve around our house means time for Chili!
"Itshugrandma made the chili and we picked her up a little after 5:00 pm to bring her and the chili to our house.
This year we tried something new, we added a new criteria for coming over... you had to have a tacky Christmas sweater on
Joey and I dressed up in our finest... which we found out later was not tacky enough
and we set up Bethany's room for the kids to decorate their own Christmas bowl
Everyone started arriving about 6:00 pm
the kids love having their cousins over
Even Shawn and "uncle Tommy" dressed up
It is always a laugh when my family gets together but this night it was hysterical!
The kids did a great job on their bowls.
We baked them in the oven for about an hour to let the ink settle in.
and while the bowls were baking we ate and ate!
aunt Morgan and Uncle Wesley got a chance to eat while little Sebastian slept
My mom, Samantha and Logan showed up about an hour late (that's good for them :)
Mallory was actually wearing the sweater my grandma made for Shawn when he was her age!
Ayden was doing his "Christmas Story" impression of the mean red headed bully .... "cry baby, cry!"
Finally time for presents!!!!
oh, I can remember like it was yesterday wanting the adults to hurry up and eat and get the dishes done so we could open gifts!
Before we opened gifts we first had a contest to judge who the best "ugliest dressed" person
The kids all got together and decided
Uncle Chris came in 2nd
and itshugrandma 3rd
Sebastian woke up and it was finally time to let the kids open presents!
My grandma had gifts for all the kids
and then the adults started giving out the gifts we had bought for each other.
we drew names at Thanksgiving
Eric had Grandma
Grandma had Shawn
My grandma always gets that one thing that you go... ok, grandma what's this... this year it was an orange :)
Shawn had Eric
Jennifer had Morgan I think?
Joey had Samantha
Joey was sweet, he even wrote a nice note in the journal he bought her
Amy had Wesley
Tommy had Amy
I missed a few pictures here but everyone else gave out their gifts
the girls worked on their nails while the adults were opening their gifts.
and then Logan got to open his gifts since they would be heading out of town early Christmas morning
before everyone could leave... you know me, a family picture!
The bowls finished in the oven just in time to fill them with reindeer food to throw out for Santa's arrival!
by this time the girls had put on their pjs itshugrandma gave them and were all ready for Santa
Everyone headed out and about 30 minutes later we had the house clean and back together and it was time for the dogs to get their presents itshugrandma got them
Twister loved his chew shoes, Daisy the Jack Russell doesn't care too much for toys.
the kids checked where Santa was on the radar
and realized he was close so it was time for bed!
