Memorial Day Weekend Continued

Saturday afternoon we got to go over to Helen and Kent house for a birthday party!

Bethany's presents from her birthday earlier were the perfect play toys!

The kids had fun with the video games
Saturday Night we stayed with Danielle and had the privilege of peace and quiet and conversation time over coffee on the front porch. It was actually a little weird because Joey and I have not had that in years! This was a pivotal moment for us though because in those minutes outside we decided.... "we need this!" and started thinking of a way that we could have this in our own home.
The kids all settled in and went fast asleep

They were watching the original Snow White movie in honor of Bethany's birthday
Sunday morning the kids were up bright and early to get ready for church

Sam decided under the table was a perfect spot for breakfast :)
I was in charge of "cooking breakfast" so cereal it was!
We loaded up and headed to church

Ayden loves his class at the "beach church"

After church we headed back to Grandma's beach house but..... Monday morning we got to go on the boat with Danielle, Joe and the kids!
There's nothing better than some fun in the sun and boy did we get some sun!..... well, we ended up being stuck on the island a little longer than expected but the memories that were created that day were priceless!

10:30 am it was time to load up!

We had some extra guests on the trip too!
Josh (Danielle's brother) and his wife Jessica and their two sons Gideon and Phoenix

Me and Danielle Kennedy were finally ready for some much needed sun!
Oh, if we only knew how much we would get that day .

Joe was our captain and Samuel was the co captain

Ayden loves the water!

We passed by the crowd and found our own little spot

Danielle held onto my baby girl....
while I held on to her baby boy
 I loved seeing the patriotism

We ended up near a bird sanctuary
We're here!
and the kids were off!
It was a little muddy at first
 But the kids didn't care

Max was so light he floated on the sand and didn't sink

Lunch time!

Sam just plays right by himself so sweet

and when he did play with the others.... it happened to be in the middle of a mud fight lol!
Phoenix said  "I didn't mean to, really"

There was toooonnnnns of these little crabs on the beach
and the kids found a mussel that was still in the shell.

about 2:00 the kids started to get restless, hungry again and ready to go....
but... we realized there wasn't enough water for us to get out....!
We were stranded!!!!
So, I checked the tide report and it said high tide wasn't until 10:30 pm!!!!!! so......
Josh started burning.
and the kids started exploring and finding the neatest things.
and in the grassy area was a spot that looked like where an alligator was laying
It started to get a little cold,
all we could do was laugh as we literally watched everyone on the other side leave while we were stuck.
but sometime after 6 Joe noticed that the water wasn't moving as much so he said "let's try it!" the guys pulled the boat
while the girls and kids moved from the front to the back to change the weight.
over to the side we noticed a jelly fish
and as the guys were pulling the boat we noticed a sting ray in the water!!!!
but finally after maneuvering the boat into deep enough water we were on the way home!!!!

We were glad to be moving again!!!!
Sam and Brock went out fast!

Love how my kids took to Danielle Kennedy and her family!

The kids were glad to be home!
Josh and Jessica and their boys headed out earlier on a "rescue boat" (Joe's neighbor) so they could get home and pick up their dog from Mitch Hardison who was dog sitting for a little longer than expected!
Pizza was ordered and the kids went around the table and told what was the best and worst part of their day... almost all of them said "Being stranded was the BEST part of their day
Joe cleaned the boat, Joey loaded up the van while Danielle and I cleaned up the kids.

After showers the kids watched a movie

and ended up falling asleep. My kids were hoping that we could stay the night again, I hated having to moving them in the van

Danielle was so sweet to cover them up with blankets from her babies so they would have something to hold on to until we visited again. They slept the whole way home and at about 11:15 pm we finally pulled back into our driveway.
It was a great trip! So many times the best trips are the ones that happen by accident. I loved spending time with Joe and Danielle Kennedy and Jessica and Josh, and all their babies. It was great catching up and enjoying some salt, sun and screaming kids
