It all started with a Donald Duck that Brock found in Grandma's attic. The duck was his daddys when he was young. Brock loves stuffed animals so of coarse he needed his own to go with Donald and since Bethany had a Minnie Mouse it was only right that Brock got Mickey.... so this past Christmas, Brock got his very own Mickey Mouse. You would have thought the boy won the lottery when he opened up his Mickey Mouse, it was so precious. Well, birthday planning starts early around the Lancaster house so we started planning for his May birthday.... in December!
Brock started early sending pictures of the things that he wanted for his birthday... DS games, a mickey mouse cover for his DS, more DS games, ... did I say DS games :)
During baseball season my mom cooked dinner for us every Tuesday so we could eat dinner before practive at 6:00 so the Tuesday before Brock's birthday she had a small little birthday Brock & Joey as a "starter birthday party"
"Itshugrandma" fried up some chicken
and we had salad.... well after Brock shared.... lol
It was a fun 20 minute birthday party before practice....
The next day "Itshugrandma" had another gift for Brock (a DS game!) so we visited her again!
two days later.... Friday, we headed to the beach for the weekend!!!!
Brock was out before we even got halfway to the beach
when we got there we made the Mickey Mouse cupcakes
The cupcakes turned out adorable!
Morning came early (as it always does with the kids at the beach) and Brock was ready for Grandma "beach" to cook him some breakfast!
Sausage and Mickey Mouse pancakes were on the menu!

after breakfast everyone headed to the boat ramp to work on a plan for fixing the boat ramp
Bethany worked on some "plans" too
The kids, Joey's mom, cousin Tiffany & baby Lukas all headed to Aquarium
While the boys stayed for a kayaking trip
The aquarium was a perfect birthday trip for Brock, he absolutely loves all kinds of animals.... as long as they are stuffed :)
The kids loved the tanks
I was thankful for the glass enclosures!
The turtles were so cute and the kids liked seeing an animal that they have too!
Baby Lukas liked the turtles too
We thought the albino alligator was stuffed.... and then he moved!!!!!!
Touching a stingray I think overall was the coolest part of the tour!
Brock even touched the stingray!
I have no idea how Tiffany carried Lukas the whole time, that kid is solid as a rock!
I'm not sure if it was ok to get up in the windows and sit but our kids did!
There were some huge fish!

after the boys got out of the sharks mouth we headed over to the scuba show
Then we got to pet a shark!!!!
Brock surprised me again and actually touched a live shark!
but then he was ready to wash his hands! Quickly!
After a trip to the gift shop where Brock fell in love "Water Otter" we headed outside
The height of the water with the hurricanes was unbelievable! Our kids have never really experienced the damage a hurricane can do. I lived at the beach when I was little and my grandmother was on the Red Cross Disaster team so I learned really early what kind of devastation a hurricane can do. I hope that our kids never have to experience what others have had in the past.
The kids started to get hungry and restless
so I made one last attempt for a group photo
with no avail......
so we headed to the beach for a picnic lunch....... but 40 hour winds (well, it felt like it) kept us in the car
so we had an awesome lunch in a wind free van that was just perfect and headed back to the beach house!
When we got there the guys had cooked up the famous "frog more stew" and had a game of corn hole going on.
Baby Lukas stayed right in mommas arms :)
Even at dinner while Rob tried his first frogmore stew!
After dinner it was party time!!!!
The birthday boy was ready with his Mickey Ears!
and he even had some ears to share!
Some enjoyed the Mickey ears better than others :)
"Happy Birthday to you, happy Birthday to you... happy birthday dear Brockie.... Happy Birthday to you!
Brock is also in to Batman this year
and soccer
and his DS
and who doesn't love money$$$$$$$
Bethany & Ayden even got a gift
after the party everyone headed back downstairs to go out on the kayak and feed the birds
Brock considers putting his feet in the water as "swimming" in the water :)
Here's how he took the kayak "out"
Baby Lukas enjoyed outside too!
It didn't take long for Ayden to start asking Brock when can they paint his Mickey he got for his birthday
Since it was Brock's birthday he got to sleep in the special tent that night
Sunday came too quickly and we had to head back home
We stopped at the park to let the Bridge open back up and sneak in one more memory of his 6th birthday weekend.
I think the birds were excited for our stop too
Monday we had one more little party for Brock at school
We had juice boxes and more Mickey Mouse cupcakes
Brock got to tell the class all about his birthday weekend at the beach

He also got to sport his Mickey ears one more time and his new Batman booksac!
It was a fun birthday. Brock had everything he loved around him, family, stuffed animals, the beach but most importantly, time; Brock loves for people to just spend time with him and that we did!
Happy 6th birthday Brock! We love you!
