10 Years... We have made it 10 years! Our anniversary fell on a Friday this year so I woke up to white roses and a card
and then we went on to work, school and preschool. But Fridays are ballgame days.... Bethany was not a happy camper when she found out that mom and dad were skipping her game for a date.
But grandma and papa were there and they would be just fine without us cause mom and dad needed some alone time!
after we dropped the kids off at their game we headed to our favorite place... Carrabbas!
the bread was delicious as always
Joey had his usual the Polo Rosa Maria
and I had my favorite the Chicken Marsala
Joey surprised me with a bracelet he saw on my pinterest account. He also shared how he had to drive all the way to Rocky Mount to find this particular braclet because it was not instock here. It's so funny how God puts people together to complete each other and this is a great example. If he could have asked his wife about it... I could have gave him a plan B (and informed him that pinterest shows other peoples likes and you have to actually pull up my boards to see what "I" like (ha, ha) but since it was a gift he did his best without my input and got me a bracelet that cost him more in gas & time than the actual gift! but my lesson, don't sweat the small stuff and be appreciative of the thought! My man drove a total of four hours out of his way to get a gift that he thought would look beautiful on my arm, that is priceless!
My gift to him had it's challenges too.... I got him a table that we could enjoy the outside... my issue was I had no way to pick it up so I gave in and had him pick it up :)
A decade.... we've been married a whole decade! That's crazy how fast time flies by! Two kids who met in college, married and had three kids in three years and now we've been married 10 years. It's not been easy but it's always been an adventure. We have laughed, cried and fought but we've stuck it out. Our reciepe for a "lasting marriage" is simple...
1.Make God your first priority, spouse second and children next
2.Take time for each other (we attend a marriage seminar every year & learn something new EVERY year)
3. Laugh a lot!
4. Learn to forgive
5. Laugh a little more
