Father's Day 2014

This Father's day the kids and I did something really fun. The day before I gave the kids each a few quarters and we went yard sale'n! What better way to let the kids find special things for their dad on a budget!

Well, the kids found a few things for dad.... and for themselves too!

Mom scored a really cool piece too :)
Sunday morning we got up early and made breakfast for dad, a ham and cheese omelet and coffee.
and the kids were soooo ready to give their gifts!
 Golf clubs from Ayden
A picture of a bridge from Brock. "This would be great in your office dad since you work at the Bridge"
A golf shirt from Bethany
A special card from mom letting dad know why we love him so much
It said, "From ballgames to ball gowns to bathrooms, you've got it covered!
Thank you for all the big things you do to be the best dad our kids could ask for and all the little things in between. Thank you for being a God fearing example of our man to our boys and a loving husband as an
example to our daughter. You've set the standards high for our kids and that’s what I love about you.

It didn't take long and this father's day breakfast had to head outside!

At lunch time we headed to Grandma and Papa Gator's house with Papa's golf club for Father's Day.

Lunch was some fried chicken tenders and yummy sides
After lunch we headed home to start on a special Father's Day dinner for my dad
We had cheesey chicken, zuchini from our garden, fresh corn, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes
The corn was really special because Bethany shucked it herself!

and you can't leave out watermelon!
dessert was brownies and trail mix put on my new platter!

Earlier that week we had a really bad thunderstorm/tornado watch
We hunkered down in the hallway and enjoyed dinner and listened as our tree cracked in the backyard
So..... when my dad got to my house he went to work on that tree!

After a lot of pulling, the huge branch came tumbling down without causing anymore damage!
with the branch out of the way it was finally time to eat and swim!
the hammock was a big hit too!

"Itshugrandma" and the cousins made it to the dinner too.
We also made some homemade pop cycles

cousin Logan had been to Elizabeth City with his dad for almost two weeks so he was pretty happy to see grandma Arbeau! and I think she was a little happy too ;)
it didn't take long though and he was digging in the dirt!
Present time!
You can never go wrong with pocket tee shirts for my dad.
and underware

never a dull moment
I really lucked up when God blessed me with Joey to be our kids' dad. He is not perfect but he's perfect for our family :)
