Sunday, March 30th..... a day that was the beginning of the worst week of sickness our family has scene since the week Bethany was born five years before.
About an hour before we left a friends house at the beach Ayden started getting quiet and winey (if that makes sense) and his hair turned a shade redder.... he was getting sick.
We drove home from the beach and luckily all the kids were asleep the whole time.
A couple days before Joey had complained of having a headache and sinus issues but nothing too major, he just was a little slower than normal.
Sunday night Joey was sick, Ayden was sick....
Monday Brock was throwing up with a fever....
Tuesday, Bethany got it
Tuesday, April 2nd was my 32nd birthday.... My house was filled with the sound of coughing, throwing up, "my head hurts" I'm cold, I'm hot" times 4! But hey I got the day off for my birthday
It was a day that reminded me at this season of my life I am wife and mother and then me, Amy. There was no cake, no presents, but I did have the gift of two of my babies feeling better and lots of facebook birthday wishes which actually was really a blessing because I was kind of depressed.
Bethany and Ayden were well enough to eat finally, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching your babies suffering and feeling like you can't do anything to help.

Poor Brock and Joey were still hanging in there trying to get better.
Wednesday came.... finally Brock felt better! I was able to go to work, the kids went to Shiloh Farms (they were out of school) and Joey tried to go to work.

and I got a birthday cake :) it reminded me of a circus which is what my life had felt like the past couple of days....... right after lunch I got a call that Bethany had thrown up... back to pick her up and head home.....
Thursday, Joey was still sick, Friday, Joey was still sick, Saturday and Sunday Joey was better but not his complete self. Monday came and it was time for school; Brock decided it would be funny to throw the trash can that had been beside daddy on his brother along with all the contents inside of it (you can guess what that was) that was an awesome start to a Monday morning!
Tuesday came and finally Joey was better! Praise God! That week reminded me of the day we brought Bethany home from the hospital.... 24 hours before I woke up to Brock throwing up (he had just turned 1) so I cleaned him up, changed the bedding and laid him back down on a mat on the floor in case he got sick again; just as a put one leg on the bed to lay back down my water broke.... Bethany was on the way! We hurried to the hospital and she was born two hours later, a few hours after she was born Joey got sick, then Ayden got sick, Joey's parents who were watching the boys got sick, My parents, my brother and sister got sick... it was memorial day weekend so everyone else was out of town! Bethany and I stayed quarentined in my bedroom while litterally my entire family was sick with a stomach bug, it was the craziest thing I had ever scene.... well, until five years later, Easter Weekend.
Times like this remind me to be so thankful for health! I am thankful that stomach bugs are short and patience are long!
